Ideas for Reducing Plumbing Issues
- DON'T use the garbage disposal for peels such as potato, apple, onion, and hard squash such as acorn or butternut. It's also a good idea to avoid disposing of celery, lettuce and other greens, bones, egg shells, and leftover grease or oil.
- DO turn on the faucet prior to emptying food waste, DO leave the garbage disposal on until all waste is disposed, DO leave faucet on after disposing of waste to allow prevent clogging the drain.
- DO stock bathrooms with easily flushable toilet paper and fresh cotton hand towels so that toilets are not clogged.
